About Annabell Duke
Why do I use Annabell Duke Modern Finish mineral paint – the leading UK-made Mineral Paint? Because I get a perfect finish every time
With correct preparation Annabell Duke Mineral Paint can be applied to most surfaces without the need for separate primer. It can be used on wood, plastics, UPVC, plaster, concrete, glass, tiles, most metals and many other surfaces.
It has amazing coverage: 15m²/litre. This means you can comfortably paint a large piece of furniture, such as a wardrobe or a dresser, with just one 500ml pot. Or, paint a small table, bedside cabinet or chair with a 150ml project pot.
These are the top 5 questions my customers ask me

- The finish looks so smooth! Have you sprayed it?
- Do I need to do lots of prep work?

I really am not one to blow my own trumpet by any means, but as a professional furniture painter with over 10 years' experience of using a whole array of different furniture paints — some good, some not so good — when Annabell Duke Mineral paint hit the UK market it was a complete game changer for me and I was instantly hooked.
This paint is easy to use with great coverage, it has a built-in primer, offering excellent adhesion and saving you time and money and effort, leaves a brushstroke-free finish, and there is no need to wax or varnish, as once fully cured it will provide a scuff free and durable finish. Annabell Duke Mineral paint is also moisture proof, so it can be used outside too.
Annabell Duke Mineral paint is perfect for that sleek, high-end, on trend-look.
What my customers say about Annabell Duke Mineral Paint
I have tried most popular mineral paints and find Annabell Duke is great for my needs. They have a great selection of colours that you can use as-is or, as I like to do, mix my own custom colours. The story of Annabell Duke
Meet Michael Burningham, the founder of Annabell Duke Chalk and Mineral Paints. Here he is with Sarah Eastland, his absolute right-hand lady. Michael has a wealth of experience in the painting and decorating industry, and so when it comes to paint Michael really knows his stuff.
Go back twelve years to when chalk paint had suddenly gained huge popularity in the furniture painting world. Michael had so many customers asking him to stock chalk paint in his specialist decorator centre that he decided to produce his own brand. He listened to everything his customers wanted in a chalk paint, and he delivered.
He introduced us to the sophisticated and aristocratic Annabell Duke, with her (then) fabulous 50 shades of chalk paint! She certainly proved to be a popular lady and soon attracted a string of independent stockists.
In 2018, Michael became very aware of the shift in the market: there was a whole new wave of furniture painters out there. This time their demands were for a paint with a look and finish to suit the more contemporary furniture that had gained popularity in the interior design world.
Once again, Michael listened to his customers’ specific requirements, and so Annabell Duke Modern Finish Mineral Paint was launched: a smooth silky paint with exceptional coverage and durability, that is self-priming, self-levelling and self-sealing!
The Annabell Duke Collection, proudly made in the UK. Quality chalk and mineral paints, waxes, finishes and metallics.
In Michael’s own words: “We’ve got you covered”.
