COVID19. In the interests of public health we have decided to suspend the running of workshops for the time being. Please use the form at the foot of the page to subscribe to email updates and we'll let you know when they are expected to restart.
What is this?
During this workshop you will prepare and paint a small piece of furniture that you have brought with you.
Who is it for?
This workshop is suitable for anyone who has never painted furniture before, or who has limited experience and would like to revisit the basics.
How will we spend our time?
The workshop starts at 10.30am with a brew, a meet and greet, and an overview of the day.
We will cover:
- Preparation, cleaning and why it is important.
- Choosing the right brush for the job.
- Painting the piece and how to apply the paint.
- Sanding between coats.
- Adding a stencil detail.
There will be a lunch break (lunch is provided).
We expect to finish around 4pm.
What should I bring?
A suitable piece would be a small occasional table, kitchen chair, or bedside cabinet. If you can't easily carry it in yourself then it's probably too big. If you have any doubts, please send us a picture beforehand so we can check.
Your piece needs to be sound and should not have previously been painted. Please bear in mind that we expect to carry out reasonable preparation on the day, but we can’t repair.
Please, no upholstered items.
All other tools, equipment and materials will be provided.
Is there anything else I should know?
Please see the 'Important information' section on the 'Workshops' page.
