Black beeswax-based formulation that seals and protects chalk paint, nourishes wood, and adds age, depth and patina.
Bunty’s Waxes are made from the wax from local Suffolk bees.
The clear wax is perfect to seal and protect your painted furniture and nourish and protect natural wood. The black and brown waxes are perfect for adding depth, age, and patina.
Apply sparingly with a brush or lint-free cloth. Leave for around 20 minutes, then buff with a clean lint-free cloth for your desired sheen.
Bunty’s Paints is a small family-run business based in Suffolk.
The business takes its name from Bunty, the British girls' comic that was first published in 1958 and survived into this century. Many of the names of the colours are reminiscent of the early days of the comic.
Until recently, Bunty's were best known for their fabulous chalk paints. Due to popular demand, they have recently transitioned to producing mineral paints, a step that has gained a rapid following among many professional furniture artists, DIY enthusiasts, upcyclers and crafters.
To complement their mineral paints, Bunty’s have created and curated a selection of preparation products (including sugar soap and primers), paint brushes, metallic accents and finishing products (including top coat lacquers, waxes and decoupage glue).
We only ship within the United Kingdom.
All orders are sent via Royal Mail.
'Standard delivery' means Royal Mail second class. The expected delivery timescale for this is 2–3 working days.
'Express delivery' means Royal Mail first class. This is expected to arrive in 1–2 working days.
The charge for delivery is based on the service (standard or express) and on the weight of the parcel.
Delivery starts at £3.95 for standard, and £4.95 for express. As a guide, if your order is heavier than two 500ml pots of paint then it will probably move up to a higher price band.
Orders placed before midday on weekdays (other than bank holidays), or before 10am on Saturdays, will be dispatched on the same day.
Orders received after that will be dispatched the next working day.
If, for any reason, this will not be possible, this will be clearly shown in a banner message at the top of the site.
You will notified by email when your order has been dispatched.
If you need your order more quickly, or have any other special requirements, please do let me know. For example, you may have missed the cutoff for same-day dispatch, or you may want your order to be tracked, or signed for, or to be guaranteed next day.
The best thing is to telephone me. The number is at the bottom of the page. If I am unable to take the call, please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can.
If I can help, I will!
Small, non-fragile items such as roller sleeves or paintbrushes are generally sent in padded envelopes.
Other items are carefully packed in sturdy cardboard boxes and clearly marked as fragile.
We take great pride in the quality of our packing, and so far (touch wood!) we have had no instances where orders have suffered damage in transit.
Please see our full shipping policy for additional information.
