Applicator sponge for easy, even and streak-free application of water-based varnishes, topcoats & lacquers.
Sold individually.
Are you looking for an applicator to take the stress out of applying a topcoat varnish to your beautifully painted piece of furniture?
Fusion Tough Coat sponges are a must-have in your painting toolkit. They are super fine and with their easy-to-hold grip section and large stable flat surface, they make the application of water-based topcoats, varnishes and lacquers a breeze.
Just pour your product onto a paper plate, slightly dampen the sponge applicator and dip it into your Tough Coat or varnish making sure you have an even coverage. Then start at one end of your project and apply a solid continual swipe in one direction. Repeat this process over your entire piece.
To ensure a smooth, streak-free application wipe in one direction only. Don’t be tempted to wipe backwards over the wet surface as this will cause air bubbles to form.
Allow the Tough Coat or varnish dry for approximately 2-4 hours and then repeat the process.
Top Tip: keep the applicator sponges in an airtight bag between coats to prevent them from drying out.
These sponges are super easy to clean. Just use some Fusion Brush cleaner and water to remove all the residue in your sponge, let them dry and they will be lovely and soft all ready for your next project.

All orders are sent via Royal Mail.
'Standard delivery' means Royal Mail Tracked 48. The expected delivery timescale for this is 2–3 working days.
'Express delivery' means Royal Mail Tracked 24. This is expected to arrive in 1–2 working days.
The charge for delivery is based on the service (standard or express) and on the weight of the parcel.
Delivery starts at £3.95 for standard, and £4.95 for express. As a guide, if your order is heavier than two 500ml pots of paint then it will probably move up to a higher price band.
Orders placed before midday on weekdays (other than bank holidays), or before 10am on Saturdays, will be dispatched on the same day.
Orders received after that will be dispatched the next working day.
If, for any reason, this will not be possible, this will be clearly shown in a banner message at the top of the site.
You will notified by email when your order has been dispatched.

Small, non-fragile items such as roller sleeves or paintbrushes are generally sent in padded envelopes.
Other items are carefully packed in sturdy cardboard boxes and clearly marked as fragile.
I take great pride in the quality of our packing, and so far (touch wood!) I have had no instances where orders have suffered damage in transit.
