Bonding BOSS is a primer and stain blocker in one — Dixie Belle's answer to the two things that most often go wrong underneath a coat of paint. It grips surfaces paint struggles with, and it stops old stains and wood tannins bleeding up through the finish.

Most furniture does not need a primer under Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint. Two situations do: bare wood that might bleed tannin through a white or a pale colour, and slick surfaces like glass, ceramic, laminate and metal where you want the extra insurance.

It comes in three colours, chosen to suit the paint going over the top — white under lighter hues, grey under mid tones like yellows and reds, and clear under dark colours or where you plan to distress back.

How to use

Clean the surface thoroughly. Dirt, grease, grime, wax and chalk all have to come off first — White Lightning will do it.
Make good. Remove any loose or flaking paint, and fill holes, cracks and surface imperfections.
Pick the right colour. White under pale colours, grey under mid tones, clear under darks or for distressing.
Stir with a circular, lifting motion. Keep going until the consistency is even throughout.
Apply, let it dry, then paint as normal.

About Dixie Belle Paint Company

Dixie Belle Paint Company started in 2014 in Port Richey, Florida, and still makes its products there. Everything is mixed and poured in small batches rather than run off a production line — a slower way to work, chosen so that every tin behaves the same way as the last one.

The character of the brand is unmistakably Southern: warm, plain-spoken and not remotely precious about itself. Names like Sawmill Gravy, Kudzu and Best Dang Wax tell you most of what you need to know about the tone. The names are light-hearted; the products are not.

What holds the range together is that it is designed as a system rather than a catalogue. Paints, primers, top coats, waxes, stains and texture products are all made to work with one another, so the question is never whether one will sit happily over another. What delivery services do you use?

We only ship within the United Kingdom.

All orders are sent via Royal Mail.

'Standard delivery' means Royal Mail Tracked 48. The expected delivery timescale for this is 2–3 working days.

'Express delivery' means Royal Mail Tracked 24. This is expected to arrive in 1–2 working days.

How much will delivery cost?

The charge for delivery is based on the service (standard or express) and on the weight of the parcel.

Delivery starts at £3.95 for standard, and £4.95 for express. As a guide, if your order is heavier than two 500ml pots of paint then it will probably move up to a higher price band.

When will my order be dispatched?

Orders placed before midday on weekdays (other than bank holidays) will be dispatched on the same day.

Orders received after that will be dispatched the next working day.

If, for any reason, this will not be possible, this will be clearly shown in a banner message at the top of the site.

You will notified by email when your order has been dispatched.
