Paint additive to increase the open time (drying time) of Fusion Mineral paint, water-based paints, water-based varnishes and water-based metallics
Are you looking for a paint extender to help minimise the appearance of brush marks or to increase the drying time allowing you longer to work with your paint?
Fusion Paint Extender buys you more time to work with your favourite water-based paint.
During hot weather, paint can dry too fast making it difficult to apply it fast enough before it starts to dry and drag, which can result in more visible and unsightly brush marks and a less-than-perfect finish.
It’s also great if you want to create blended and ombre effects as the open time will allow you to work with the paints for much longer.
You can use the Fusion paint extender to increase the open time (drying time) of Fusion Mineral paint, water-based paints, water-based varnishes and water-based metallics.
Fusion paint extender is a clear liquid and it doesn’t change the colour of your paint, nor does it compromise durability, unlike watering down.
It works by attracting and retaining the water which is then slowly released.
Simply add the Fusion Paint extender to your paint in the ratio of 15ml extender to 500ml of paint and stir in thoroughly.
It is not recommended you increase this ratio as your paint will take much longer to dry and much longer to fully cure.
Fusion is family-owned and operated – proudly so! Their parent company, Homestead House Paint Co., has been in business since 1989.
Fusion Mineral Paint is a labour of love for founder Jennylyn Pringle. She has generations of paint expertise behind her, learned from the family business.
Forever inspired by the power of a fresh coat of paint, Jennylyn created Fusion as the ultimate go-to for fellow DIY enthusiasts round the world.
Fusion Mineral Paint was founded and is based in Toronto, Canada, and each pot of colour is hand-poured and labelled with love.
We only ship within the United Kingdom.
All orders are sent via Royal Mail.
'Standard delivery' means Royal Mail Tracked 48. The expected delivery timescale for this is 2–3 working days.
'Express delivery' means Royal Mail Tracked 24. This is expected to arrive in 1–2 working days.
The charge for delivery is based on the service (standard or express) and on the weight of the parcel.
Delivery starts at £3.95 for standard, and £4.95 for express. As a guide, if your order is heavier than two 500ml pots of paint then it will probably move up to a higher price band.
Orders placed before midday on weekdays (other than bank holidays), or before 10am on Saturdays, will be dispatched on the same day.
Orders received after that will be dispatched the next working day.
If, for any reason, this will not be possible, this will be clearly shown in a banner message at the top of the site.
You will notified by email when your order has been dispatched.
Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that the shipping address and other contact details on your order are correct. Whilst I make every effort to spot obvious errors, I cannot be held responsible for missing parcels if you have not provided me with complete, correct address information.
If you realise you have made a mistake with your order it is best to call me immediately — Caroline, 07812 186556; if you email me, I can’t guarantee I will see the information in time.
If you need your order more quickly, or have any other special requirements, please do let me know. For example, you may have missed the cutoff for same-day dispatch, or you may want your order to be tracked, or signed for, or to be guaranteed next day.
The best thing is to telephone me. The number is at the bottom of the page. If I am unable to take the call, please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can.
If I can help, I will!
Small, non-fragile items such as roller sleeves or paintbrushes are generally sent in padded envelopes.
Other items are carefully packed in sturdy cardboard boxes and clearly marked as fragile.
I take great pride in the quality of our packing, and so far (touch wood!) I have had no instances where orders have suffered damage in transit.
